1981年の結成以来、能法劇団は、能・狂言・舞踊と現代演劇、そして異なる文化や言語を往還しながら作品を創作してきました。
本公演では、新旧作品を織り交ぜながら、3つの異なるプログラムを上演します。
生と死、記憶と時間、人と人とのすれ違い、そして思わず笑ってしまう人間の滑稽さ。能法劇団ならではのバイリンガル狂言(日英)とともに、日本と海外の出演者が、それぞれ異なる世界を立ち上げます。
公演日によって上演プログラム・演目が異なります。ぜひそれぞれのプログラムをお楽しみください。
 

Since its founding in 1981, Noho Theatre Group has created works that move between noh, kyōgen and contemporary theatre, and across different cultures and languages.
For this production, we present three different programs, interweaving classic and new works.
The program features themes of Life and Death, time and memory, missed connections between people, and the human comedy that makes us laugh without meaning to. Alongside Noho Theatre Group’s signature bilingual kyōgen, performers from Japan and abroad each bring a different world to life.
The program and plays performed differ by date. We hope you’ll enjoy each program and we offer set ticket discounts for those viewing A, B, and C program.

廃墟となった島の都市で、行方の知れぬ者を探し歩く女性。澤西裕典の短編小説を舞台化。
Amid the ruins of an island city, a Woman searches for the missing. Adapted from Sawanishi Yuten’s short story.

Program C｜『太郎冠者の長い一日』　Tarōkaja’s Long Day
陽気なバイリンガル創作狂言。あれこれと用事を言いつける主人。召使いの太郎冠者は、つまずき、もがきながら、どうにか言いつけから逃れようとする。
A playful bilingual original kyōgen.The Master issues commands, but the Servant Tarokaja continues to fumble and bumble his way to escape them.

能法劇団は1981年、狂言師・茂山あきらとアメリカ人演出家ジョナ・サルズにより創立。シェイクスピア、イェイツ、ベケットや創作、バイリンガル狂言を上演し、日本各地の劇場・能舞台、エディンバラ、アヴィニョン、ニューヨークのラ・ママやアジア・ソサエティで公演を重ねてきた。
 
The Noho Theatre Group was founded in 1981 by kyōgen actor Shigeyama Akira and American director Jonah Salz to interpret Shakespeare, Yeats, Beckett and original plays, as well as bilingual kyōgen. They perform at studio theatres and noh stages throughout Japan, the Edinburgh Fringe and Avignon Festivals, and New York’s La MaMa and Asia Society.
